The humble shrine for Shri Khodiyar Mata was originally set up by Maharaja Wakhatsinhji in Rajpara, Bhavnagar.
It later evolved into the magnificent temple that stands today, thanks to Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji who also ensured amenities like roads, drinking water, a dedicated railway station, and even a hospital and lake for wildlife in the Bhal region.
The Shri Khodiyar Mandir Trust was established in 1953 by Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji to preserve and develop the temple and related services.

Facilities & Services
The Trust manages several facilities that enhance the pilgrimage experience:
Dharamshalas
Khodiyar Bhavan: Two dormitories (15 beds each), 12 AC rooms, 5 non-AC rooms.
Dr. Virbhadrasinhji Dharmshala: Four dormitories (10 beds each), 14 AC rooms, 6 non-AC rooms.
